i love his colouring style so rough, textured and vibrant though these are obviously scanned in you can tell its hand drawn, so many different shades tones and textures rather than more popular manga that is quite blocked out in their colouring Shirow's style is really in depth at second glance and quite technical rather than simple. looking at the difference between his digital works and hand drawn i have to say i prefer his hand drawn approach not to say his digital works aren't good i just think they are much more polished than his hand drawn stuff. looking at the image above you can tell the difference straight away although still vibrant in colour the hand drawn works are a lot softer, though the digital works still have a lot of shading and depth they don't seem to have the same sort of texture and roughness to them as i said they are allot more polished. i had an idea for my final piece which was to take the events that are happening in game (half life) and the events/game play that takes place around the quote given and produce a comic strip out of them, using the Shirow style i shall achieve this and try to keep the hand drawn look rather than the more polished digital approach.
